چکیده
Abstract: Background: Levitiracetam is an antiepileptic medication that falls into the BCS Class I drug classification. It used to treat specific types of seizures in adults and children with epilepsy because its high solubility permeability. Aim: The objective present study evaluate extended release tablets levitiracetam by direct compression using HPMCK100, HPMCK15and Xanthan gum/Ethyl cellulose effect dissolution rate 2 level factorial designs Design expert software. Materials Methods: Expert software designs, three independent components X1: drug: HPMCK 100, X2: HPMC K15 X3: Ethyl cellulose/Xanthan gum was do analysis variance (ANOVA), 3D surface plots, counter optimization, desirability. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy investigate drug-excipient compatibility. Results Conclusion: from all diffusion control as indicated linear Higuchi plots. data analyzed Peppas equation exponent (n) found be range 0.76-0.93. Amount levetiracetam prepared formulation F2 formulated employing K100 60 mg, HMPCK15 25 Xanthane mg. In cases formulations F1, F3, F4, F5,F8 Indicates nonfickain F2, F6, F7 super case II transport mechanism. released 100% a 8 hr. fulfill specifications for tablets. results ANOVA dependent variables individual combined 3 factors significant (p< 0.05). design find design, surface, optimization optimized formula did better on desirability (1.0), indicating it good fit. FTIR spectra pure mixture various excipients, indicates no chemical interaction between excipients. Keywords: Extended release, software, Levitiracetam, Direct compression, Drug 8hr.

Formulation and Evaluation of Cephalexin Extended Release Matrix Tablets Using 32 Factorial Design
The aim of the present investigation was to prepare extended release film coated matrix tablets of cephalexin using binary mixture of two grades of hydrophilic polymer, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), by direct compression method. Results of the preliminary trials indicated that the polymers used have significant release retarding effect on the formulation. To study the effect of concent...
متن کاملFormulation and In Vitro Evaluation of Extended Release Tablets of Paliperidone Using Natural Gums
Paliperidone is a well known dopamine antagonist of the atypical antipsychotic class. In the present study Paliperidone was formulated as ER release tablets using natural and synthetic polymers separately or in combination. The aim of ER release formulation is to reduce the frequency of dosing. Tablets are prepared by direct compression method. The optimized formulations contain Paliperidone as...
متن کاملDesign and Optimization of Novel Sugar Alcohol Based Extended Release Tablets Prepared by Melt Dispersion Technique
The aim of this study is to prepare novel sorbitol based extended release tablets by melt dispersion method using carbamazepine as a model drug. Carbamazepine was melted along with sugar alcohol to get melt dispersion granules (MGDs) and was characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and solubility study. The physical and chemical parameters...
متن کاملPreparation of Alprazolam Extended- Release Tablets and In vitro Characterization
Abstract The main aim of this study was to prepare and evaluate the extended - release system of an anxiolytic substance. Alprazolam is a short-acting benzodiazepine with general properties similar to those of diazepam. Our studies focused on the development of extended drug delivery system based on Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC 4000cps) as retard agent and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP k30...
متن کاملFormulation, development, and optimization of immediate release nateglinide tablets by factorial design.
In the present study, selection of superdisintegrants among sodium starch glycolate, cross povidone, Starch-1500 and cross carmellose sodium (CCS) was carried out for development of immediate release nateglinide tablets (NTG). A 3(2) full factorial design was used to investigate the influence of two independent variables, i.e., amount of selected superdisintegrants and hardness of the tablets, ...
